The 10-km Koteshwor-Kalanki street extension extend has been pushed back by a year because of different elements like deficiency of development materials, a year ago's seismic tremors and consequent Indian exchange ban that activated intense fuel deficiencies.
The Rs5.27-billion venture, which began in June 2013, was planned to be finished by 2017. "As the venture works have been influenced for almost a year, we expect it will be finished by 2018," said Pradip Shrestha, representative for the Division Road Office, Lalitpur. "The works have gotten pace since January."
Under the venture, the current two-path street will be extended to eight paths with partitioned carriageways, benefit tracks, green belts, bike paths and trails on either sides.
